1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using OurUnitedStats ("the Service"), operated by OurUnitedStats ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these terms.

2. Description of Service

OurUnitedStats is a SaaS platform that provides interactive, state-by-state reference data across topics including but not limited to multistate tax obligations, fishing licenses, concealed carry reciprocity, vehicle registration, minimum wage comparisons, professional license portability, ferret ownership legality, and trucking regulations. Data is presented through interactive US maps, detail pages, and comparison tools. The Service is accessible via web browsers and mobile applications.

3. Account Registration

Access to the Service requires an account. Accounts are created and managed as follows:

  • A company administrator registers user accounts by providing employee email addresses.
  • Users authenticate via passwordless email magic links or Google OAuth. We do not use or store passwords.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your email account, as it serves as your authentication method.
  • You must promptly notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
  • Company administrators are responsible for managing their team's access and removing users who should no longer have access.

4. Subscription and Billing

  • The Service is offered on a seat-based subscription model with monthly billing.
  • Pricing is determined by the number of seats and features selected, as agreed in your subscription contract.
  • Company administrators may add or remove users within their allocated seat count at any time.
  • Features can be enabled or disabled at any time, and billing adjusts accordingly.
  • All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise specified in your subscription agreement.
  • We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' written notice. Changes apply at the next billing cycle.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems.
  • Redistribute, resell, or sublicense any data or content obtained from the Service without our written permission.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks connected to the Service.
  • Share your account credentials or allow others to use your account.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and functionality of the Service are owned by OurUnitedStats and are protected by United States and international intellectual property laws.

While much of the underlying government data we reference is publicly available, our compilation, organization, presentation, analysis, and interactive features are proprietary. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute our compiled content, maps, comparison tools, or data presentations without our express written consent.

The information provided through the Service is for general reference purposes only.

  • We are not a law firm, accounting firm, or financial advisory service.
  • Content on the Service does not constitute legal, tax, financial, or professional advice.
  • State laws, regulations, and requirements change frequently. While we strive to keep information current, we cannot guarantee that all information is accurate or up to date at any given time.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
  • OurUnitedStats shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
  • We are not liable for any decisions made or actions taken based on the information provided through the Service.

9. Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms of Service, with or without notice.
  • Company administrators may remove individual users from their team at any time.
  • You or your company administrator may request account closure by contacting us at team@ourunitedstats.com.
  • Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Data deletion follows the timeline described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or the Service shall be resolved in the federal or state courts located in the United States, and you consent to the jurisdiction of such courts.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the platform. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
