EV Purchase Rebate & Tax Credits

New York offers a GOOD $2,000 purchase rebate for qualifying EV buyers. Combined with the federal IRA credit (up to $7,500), this can substantially reduce your EV purchase price. MSRP limits and income thresholds may apply.

Home Charging Station Incentives

NYSERDA and Con Edison offer EV charger rebates. New York Electric Vehicle Make-Ready Program provides discounted Level 2 charging installation for residents. Rebates typically $250–$500.

Solar Tax Credit & Net Metering

New York offers a 25% state income tax credit for residential solar installations. Net metering: Net metering is available in New York under NY PSC rules. Excess generation is credited at the retail rate for residential systems under the Value of Distributed Energy Resources (VDER) tariff.

HOV Lane Access for EVs

New York grants qualifying EVs access to High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes regardless of passenger count. Check your state DMV for the required clean-fuel vehicle decal or sticker to use this benefit.

Additional State Programs

Drive Clean Rebate (NYSERDA) provides $2,000 for new BEVs (MSRP under $42,000). Additional rebates available for income-qualified buyers. Solar tax credit is 25% up to $5,000. HOV lane access available with E-ZPass Flex. Charge Ready NY program subsidizes public charging.
