EV Purchase Rebate & Tax Credits

Ohio has NO meaningful state-level EV purchase incentives as of April 2026. No state rebate, tax credit, or sales tax exemption for EVs exists. Buyers rely entirely on the federal IRA credit (up to $7,500, subject to income and vehicle requirements). Check https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-5747.014 for any new legislation.

Home Charging Station Incentives

AEP Ohio and First Energy offer limited EV programs. Columbus (Ohio's capital) has a municipal EV charger rebate program.

Solar Tax Credit & Net Metering

Ohio does not offer a state solar income tax credit. Net metering: Net metering is available in Ohio under ORC 4928.67. Excess generation is credited at the retail rate for residential systems up to 20 kW; larger systems up to 250 kW at avoided cost.
