Wyoming

When moving from Mississippi to Wyoming, you must register your vehicle within 30 days of establishing residency. You must also transfer your driver's license within 30 days. Plan to visit the Wyoming DMV promptly after your move.

Registering your vehicle in Wyoming costs $30 + county fees. Title transfer fee is $15 (title transfer is required). Vehicle sales/use tax is 5% (plus local). Budget for these costs before your move.

Wyoming requires minimum liability insurance of 25/50/20 (bodily injury per person / per accident / property damage, in thousands). Your current Mississippi minimums are 25/50/25. You must update your insurance to meet Wyoming requirements before registering.

Wyoming requires both front and rear plates (Mississippi requires rear only). Surrender out-of-state plates; new WY plates issued. You will need to surrender your Mississippi plates and obtain new Wyoming plates.
