Weight Limits

Washington interstate GVW limit: 80,000 lbs. State highways allow up to 105,500 lbs with proper axle configuration. Per-axle limits: Single axle 20,000 lbs, Tandem axle 34,000 lbs, Tridem axle 42,000 lbs. Federal bridge formula on interstates; Washington allows higher GVW on state routes with extra axles. Enforcement tolerance: No general tolerance on interstates.

Oversize/Overweight Permits

Self-issue permits available through WSDOT online system for standard oversize/overweight loads Fees: Single-trip: $30; Annual: $100+. Georgia oversize permits are not directly honored in Washington. You will need to obtain a Washington-specific permit for oversize/overweight loads. Apply online: https://wsdot.wa.gov/travel/commercial-vehicles/commercial-vehicle-permits/self-issue-permit Enforcement: WSP and WSDOT enforcement; weigh-in-motion technology; fines per pound overweight.

Exemptions

Agricultural: Agricultural vehicles exempt on state highways during harvest; farm implements have width exemptions. Timber/Forestry: Log trucks allowed up to 105,500 lbs on designated state routes.
