Registration & Permits

Arizona participates in IRP; registration through ADOT Motor Vehicle Division. No state-specific operating permit required beyond federal authority; UCR registration required. Your IRP registration covers operating in Arizona as long as it is listed on your cab card. All drivers transporting hazardous materials must have a valid CDL with hazmat endorsement (HME), which requires a TSA background check. Check Arizona's specific routing requirements before hauling hazmat loads through the state.

Ports of entry on all major highways entering Arizona; stations on I-10, I-17, I-40, I-8. Bypass programs available: PrePass, Drivewyze; Arizona HELP program. Carriers with good safety records and proper credentials may qualify for bypass at equipped stations, saving time and fuel.
