Maine shares 3 interstate compacts with Texas: Nurse Licensure Compact, Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact. Some professions can transfer between these states through compact agreements, while others will require separate state licensing. PT Compact member effective January 1, 2026 (LD 1749 signed by Gov. Mills).

Both Texas and Maine are members of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). If you hold a multistate nursing license from Texas, you can practice in Maine without obtaining a separate license.

Teaching license portability from Texas to Maine: NASDTEC member; reciprocal certification available with endorsement review. Most states participate in the NASDTEC Interstate Agreement, but specific requirements vary by state and endorsement area.
