Louisiana has a universal license recognition law. As a Arizona-licensed professional, your license is generally recognized in Louisiana, subject to meeting basic eligibility requirements. Louisiana is a member of 6 compacts: Nurse Licensure Compact, Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, Physical Therapy Compact, EMS Compact (REPLICA), Counseling Compact, Occupational Therapy Compact. You share 5 of these with Arizona: Nurse Licensure Compact, Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, Physical Therapy Compact, Counseling Compact, Occupational Therapy Compact.

Both Arizona and Louisiana are members of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). If you hold a multistate nursing license from Arizona, you can practice in Louisiana without obtaining a separate license.

Teaching license portability from Arizona to Louisiana: NASDTEC member; reciprocal certification with additional state exam for some subjects. Most states participate in the NASDTEC Interstate Agreement, but specific requirements vary by state and endorsement area.
