Ferret ownership legal since 1993. Under RSA 207:6, it is illegal to possess a ferret while hunting or traveling to/from hunting. Ferrets must be vaccinated against rabies at least 30 days before entering the state if 4+ months old. HB1167 (2026) attempted to enable ferret hunting but was ruled 'Inexpedient to Legislate' March 5, 2026.
