North Carolina has NO meaningful state-level EV purchase incentives as of April 2026. No state rebate, tax credit, or sales tax exemption for EVs exists. Buyers rely entirely on the federal IRA credit (up to $7,500, subject to income and vehicle requirements). Check https://www.ncleg.gov/ for any new legislation.

Duke Energy and Dominion NC offer EV time-of-use rates and occasional charger rebates. No statewide EV purchase incentive.
Solar Tax Credit & Net Metering
North Carolina does not offer a state solar income tax credit. Net metering: Net metering is available in North Carolina under G.S. 62-133.8. Excess generation is credited at the retail rate for residential systems up to 1 MW.
