Montana has NO meaningful state-level EV purchase incentives as of April 2026. No state rebate, tax credit, or sales tax exemption for EVs exists. NorthWestern Energy offers EV rates. No statewide EV purchase or charger incentive. Montana has no sales tax.

Solar Tax Credit & Net Metering

Montana does not offer a state solar income tax credit. Net metering: Net metering is available in Montana under MCA 69-8-601. Excess generation is credited at the retail rate for residential systems up to 50 kW.
