EV Purchase Rebate & Tax Credits

Connecticut offers a GOOD $3,000 purchase rebate for qualifying EV buyers. Combined with the federal IRA credit (up to $7,500), this can substantially reduce your EV purchase price. MSRP limits and income thresholds may apply.

Home Charging Station Incentives

CHEAPR (Connecticut Hydrogen and Electric Automobile Purchase Rebate) includes a home charger rebate of up to $500 through Eversource and UI. Statewide EVSE rebate available.

Solar Tax Credit & Net Metering

Connecticut does not offer a state solar income tax credit. Net metering: Net metering available in Connecticut for residential systems up to 40 kW. Administered by Eversource and United Illuminating at the retail rate.

HOV Lane Access for EVs

Connecticut grants qualifying EVs access to High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes regardless of passenger count. Check your state DMV for the required clean-fuel vehicle decal or sticker to use this benefit.

Additional State Programs

CHEAPR rebate is $3,000 for new EVs (up to $9,500 MSRP cap waived for income-qualified under CHEAPR+). HOV lane access with Clean Air Vehicle sticker. Connecticut EV Charging Program (EVCP) also supports public charging buildout.
