Arizona
EV Purchase Rebate & Tax Credits
Arizona has MINIMAL direct EV purchase incentives. The state may offer HOV lane access, small utility charger rebates, or minor fee waivers, but no significant cash-back program for most buyers. The federal IRA credit (up to $7,500) remains your best incentive here.
Home Charging Station Incentives
APS and SRP offer EV home charging time-of-use rates and occasional rebates up to $250 for Level 2 charger installation.
Solar Tax Credit & Net Metering
Arizona offers a 25% state income tax credit for residential solar installations. Net metering: Arizona has net metering (net billing) rules set by the Arizona Corporation Commission. Excess generation is credited at the avoided cost rate, which is lower than retail rate as of 2024.
Additional State Programs
Alternative fuel vehicle (AFV) license plate available. State sales tax does not apply to qualifying alternative fuel vehicles purchased for commercial use under ARS 42-5061.
