EV Purchase Rebate & Tax Credits

Nevada offers a MODERATE benefit primarily through a sales tax exemption on qualifying EV purchases. See the sales tax section below for dollar value and MSRP eligibility limits.

Sales Tax Exemption on EV Purchase

Nevada exempts alternatively fueled vehicles, including EVs, from the state sales and use tax (NRS 372.809). Saves approximately $700–$1,800 depending on vehicle price.

Home Charging Station Incentives

NV Energy offers EV home charger rebates up to $500 and time-of-use charging rates for residential customers.

Solar Tax Credit & Net Metering

Nevada does not offer a state solar income tax credit. Net metering: Net metering is available in Nevada under NRS 704.766–704.775. Excess generation is credited at the retail rate for residential systems up to 1 MW. Nevada has a strong net metering policy.

Additional State Programs

Nevada also exempts EVs from emissions testing requirements. The sales tax exemption is the primary state EV benefit, available to all purchasers.
