Utah offers a MODERATE $1,500 state incentive for EV buyers. This may be income-restricted or subject to vehicle eligibility caps. See below for sales tax exemption and charging incentives, which may add additional value.

Home Charging Station Incentives

Rocky Mountain Power offers EV charger rebates up to $200 and time-of-use rates. Questar Gas offers rebates for EV charging equipment.

Solar Tax Credit & Net Metering

Utah offers a 25% state income tax credit for residential solar installations. Net metering: Net metering is available in Utah under UCA 54-15-102. Excess generation is credited at the retail rate for residential systems up to 25 kW.

HOV Lane Access for EVs

Utah grants qualifying EVs access to High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes regardless of passenger count. Check your state DMV for the required clean-fuel vehicle decal or sticker to use this benefit.

Additional State Programs

Utah offers a $1,500 clean fuel vehicle tax credit under UCA 59-7-605 for new qualifying EVs. HOV lane access available with a clean-fuel vehicle permit sticker. Solar tax credit is 25% up to $2,000 for residential installations.
