New Jersey permit type: May-Issue. Minimum age: 21. Training required: Yes. Non-resident permits are NOT available from New Jersey. Must be 21+, firearms training course, pass background check, demonstrate familiarity with safe handling, no felony convictions

Where You Cannot Carry (Even With a Valid Permit)

In New Jersey, concealed carry is prohibited in the following locations: Schools, government buildings, courthouses, bars, hospitals, public transit, parks, beaches, entertainment venues, casinos, airports, places of worship, libraries, museums, child care facilities. Always check for posted signage and comply with all local restrictions. Federal gun-free zones (federal buildings, post offices, military installations) apply nationwide regardless of state permits.
