District of Columbia permit type: May-Issue. Minimum age: 21. Training required: Yes. Non-resident permits available (fee: $75). Must be 21+, 16-hour training course with live fire, pass background check, fingerprinting, no felony convictions
Where You Cannot Carry (Even With a Valid Permit)
In District of Columbia, concealed carry is prohibited in the following locations: Schools, government buildings, the National Mall, public transit, stadiums, bars, hospitals, places of worship, within 1000ft of protest/demonstration. Always check for posted signage and comply with all local restrictions. Federal gun-free zones (federal buildings, post offices, military installations) apply nationwide regardless of state permits.
