Abortion is LEGAL UNTIL FETAL VIABILITY in Kansas, generally defined as approximately 22–24 weeks of pregnancy. After viability, abortion may be permitted to protect the life or health of the pregnant person.

The gestational limit in Kansas is 22 weeks of pregnancy (measured from the last menstrual period, unless otherwise specified). Procedures must be initiated before this limit is reached.

After 22 weeks, exceptions for life and physical health of the pregnant person, and for conditions likely to cause death or disability of the fetus. Voters rejected removing the state constitutional right to abortion in August 2022.
